ALL TRAILS are temporarily CLOSED due to last nights heavy rain and thick fog.
Unfortunately we have had to close the trails until we receive more snow. Fridays thick fog and last nights heavy rain has devastated the snowpack. With so many flooded areas and many many bare spots in the interest of protecting our landowners and the safety of sledders we are closing the trail system until we receive more snow. Tonight there are very cold temperatures expected which will firm things back up however that will not help the bare spots, rock, stumps, and deep trenches carved by the rain run off. There is possible a storm predicted next week and if that happens we will certainly reopen the system. So stay off the trails to protect the landowners land!!
There has been a lot of rogue off trail riding this weekend and we are extremely concerned that if this keeps up there may be trail closures as a result. We have incredible landowners that allow all of us to enjoy their properties however they will reach a limit when they feel disrespected. The result will be a couple throttle jockeys will ruin it for all the rest of us. Also the loud can exhaust has got to stop. The law says the sleds must have a factory stamped muffler on them so these aftermarket pipes must go. Again it will ruin for all the rest of us if the rogue riding and loud noise continues.
We are burning about $100 of fuel a night so Please JOIN the club this year and support your trail system right here at home. The Donate/membership tabs are here on the website. In the past week and a half we used roughly 1/4 of our fuel budget so memberships couldn’t be more important to keeping the machine rolling. Maps are at the Windham Town Hall registration desk and Richardson’s on rte 302 North Windham. Today we dropped some off at Mr Mike’s station on the corner of River Road and Rte 302 as well.
Black Brook Trail has closed for the season, Grondin Trail from just past Seacoast Fun Park to the Hotel on Rte 302 has a new route which runs along Rte 302 by the ice cream Dugout so use caution
